Wow!!! What a YEAR!

2024 has been nothing short of incredible, filled with achievements, challenges, and lessons. I have learned a lot, and I need to hit pause to reflect about how far I’ve come and even more excited for what’s next. Here’s a little of my 2024 adventure!

My company Faalen Technologies, one of the leading and trusted web design companies in The Gambia, achieved remarkable success in 2024 by delivering numerous website projects. We channeled our creative energy into crafting websites for a diverse range of clients, from businesses to foundations. Academia Portal (School Data Management System)

We took a significant step forward with the development of ‘Academia Portal,’ a SaaS school data management system. This customizable solution is designed to help schools streamline their operations. With the launch of its official website, academiaportal.info, we’re ready to revolutionize how educational institutions wish to manage their data. Drawing on my over a decade of experience in teaching and managing school data, this platform is tailored to address the unique challenges faced by schools.

The believe brand became a reality!

Sometimes the best ideas are the ones you don’t plan for. The Believe brand wasn’t even on my radar, it was a spark of inspiration that grew into something cool. What started as a simple thought turned into something inspirational to inspire self-confidence, hope, resilience and the boldness to take action. Seeing people embrace the brand and its message has been nothing short of magical.

Trainings at ‘Digital Skills Hub’

Throughout 2024, I conducted a variety of impactful training sessions at Digital Skills Hub, equipping participants with essential skills for the modern digital world. These sessions covered Digital Literacy, Graphic Design, Videography & Network Engineering with CCTV Installation, and leveraging digital tools for entrepreneurship. Seeing participants gain confidence and apply their newfound knowledge to grow their businesses or enhance their careers was incredibly rewarding.

Biggest win? My students rocked the WASSCE!

My ICT students at Nusrat Senior Secondary School crushed the 2024 WASSCE ICT Elective exams with a 99% credit rate and ZERO failures! 🎉 Watching their hard work and determination pay off was hands-down one of my proudest moments in 2024.

Challenges!

Not everything went according to plan! One of the biggest challenges was the Skills.GM app launch, which didn’t quite make it to the finish line last year. In 2023, the platform won the Innovative ICT Product at the ITAG ICT Expo. A platform built for skilled workers to showcase their talent and get hired by potential clients. But hey, setbacks are just setups for comebacks, right? We hope to launch this app in 2025, we cannot give up!💪

All work no play makes…

I made it a priority to enjoy life with those who matter. Whether it was an outing with family or friends, or celebrating milestones together. These moments of joy reminded me of the importance of balance. The laughter, memories, and shared experiences recharged my energy and strengthened the bonds with my loved ones.

But what’s next?

As this year begins, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement and hoping to dive into new challenges. I’m ready to make 2025 the best one yet.
